Josephine L Keene

Josephine L. (Antisdel) Keene, 99, of Dowagiac passed away on Monday June 21, 2010 at her home. She was born on April 19, 1911 in Wayne Township, Cass County, Michigan to Vance and Isabel (Petcher) Antisdel. Jo was united in marriage to Harley Pearl Keene on September 23, 1926 in Cassopolis and they enjoyed 68 years of marriage until his passing on October 8, 1994. Jo spent her entire life as a homemaker and caretaker of her seven children and multiple “other” children. Jo is survived by four daughters Barbara Green, Shirley (Phil) Myers, Nancy Keller and Patsy Keene, all of Dowagiac, nine grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren and two great great great grandchildren, brothers Walter Antisdel of Bangor and Sherman Benson of Texas and sister Pearl Morris of Niles. She is preceded in death by three sons William, Dale and Harry Keene, daughter in law Paula (William) Keene, and son in law Kenneth Green, sister Georgeanne Kosier and brother Earl Benson. Her family will gather with friends on Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 3 p.m. led by Chaplain Theda McBryde of Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan. She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac following the service.
