Steven Edward Simmons

Steven’s life began on August 29, 1952 in Dowagiac, the son of John and Delores Joan (Tinkey) Simmons. He had been employed by Goerlich’s, and Jessco’s in Dowagiac. When Steven was young, he was a pin setter at the Dowagiac Bowling Center bowling alley on Front Street. He also was a local paperboy while growing up in Dowagiac. Steven coached Little League baseball and enjoyed bowling, golf, football and betting in NFL pools. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and New York Yankee fan. Steven moved to Arizona in 1977, working for Gila Window Film Company and was a clerk for the Circle K Company. His loving family includes sister Karen Myers and nephew Todd Myers, both of Dowagiac and great niece Mahayla Myers of Dowagiac. Steven passed away at his home on September 9, 2009. He is preceded in death by his parents. His family will gather with friends on Tuesday from noon until 2 p.m. at McLauchlin-Clark Funeral Home where his funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. He will be laid to rest in Mission Hills Cemetery, Niles.
