Shirley L. Selig, 91, of Stevensville, passed away at CrownPointe Senior Living Communities on Thursday, March 1, 2018.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12pm on Monday, March 5, 2018, at Christ Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville, with Pastor Martin Measel officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, March 5, 2018, from 11am until time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church. Shirley was born on July 7, 1926, to Charles & Laura (Kowalski) Bauman in Berrien Springs. On July 14, 1945, Shirley married Raymond Selig at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Benton Harbor. Shirley was a beautician at Shoreham Terrace Nursing Home. She enjoyed square dancing with her husband, playing bingo and poker. Shirley was an avid Chicago Cubs fan but her favorite events was watching her grandchildren play sports. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family.
Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Sandra (Terry) Lyons of Southbend and Diane (Walt) Clark of Stevensville; grandchildren, Wade (Nicole) Clark of Chesterton, IN, Amanda (Brad) Metzger of Kalamazoo, Jennifer (Virgil Chapman) Lakin of South Bend, Daniel (Leslie) Lakin of Buchanan and Heidi Lakin of New Castle, IN; and great-grandchildren, Reece and Olyvia Clark & Emily, Jarod, Eli, Nathaniel and Rachel Lakin.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond; great-grandson Caleb Lakin; and sisters Ruth Ameling and Adeline Bartz.
