Don's Obituary
Don “Tank” Worsham, 69, went home to be with our Lord Friday, October 21, 2016 with his children and loved ones by his side. Don was born May 20, 1947 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas to Zula Mae and Royal Worsham. Don attended grade school and High School there in Cotton Plant.
He is a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served our country as an Air Medic from 1967-1969. In 1970 Don relocated to Benton Harbor Michigan and held several long term jobs in the die cast industry.
Don was an outdoors man and had a passion for sports cars and motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson “Hogs”. Don was always a happy man, seeing that his mom called him her “jolly child”. Everyone that came in contact with him was in for a show, he always had a joke or two and “sharp” dance moves. His smile, laughter and bubbly personality will be missed most of all.
He leaves to cherish his memory one son; Dontee (Cathy) Worsham of Benton Harbor MI: two daughters; Felicia Worsham of Aurora, IL, Naquasha Worsham King (Brian) of Benton Harbor MI. Two grandsons; Jonathan Worsham and Cameron Worsham both of Benton Harbor, MI. Five brothers; Horace Worsham, Chicago, IL, Clarence (Clara) Worsham, McCrory, Ar., Royal “Roy” Worsham, St. Louis,MO.,Denormis (Karen) Worsham, Claudell Worsham both of Little Rock Ar., Five sisters; Portia (Luther) Whitemore of St. Louis, MO., Geraldine Worhsam of Cotton Plant, AR., Mary Carroll of Pine Bluff, AR., Laura (Grady) Cunningham, Bertha Norwood both of Little Rock, Ar. A special companion; Rosie Mathis of Benton Harbor, MI,. Two special lifelong friends; Charles Dale and LeeVell Sims both of Benton Harbor, MI. and a host of nieces and, nephews cousins and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his mother Zula Mae Worsham and father Royal Worsham and one granddaughter, Anaiah King.
A wake service will be held Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 5pm-7pm at Starks Family Funeral Home 2650 Niles Rd, St Joseph, MI 49085. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, with military rites conducted by the North Berrien Military Rites Team. Memorial donations in Don’s name may be made to Hanson Hospice Center or American Legion Post #410 in Benton Harbor.
The family would like to thank Hospice at Home and Hanson Hospice Center for the care given to Don in his final days.
