Springtime with all its beauty was the perfect time for God to call one of His own home to Heaven.
Ruth E. Hildebrand, 89, of Stevensville, went to meet her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday, May 01, 2016 at her home.
A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Court & Market St., St. Joseph, with Rev. Michael Roth officiating. Friends may visit with the family beginning one hour prior to the service at the Church. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Joseph, Trinity Lutheran Church, Berrien Springs or St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Tucker, GA. Ruth was born December 20, 1926 in St. Joseph to Adolph & Alma (Fiege) Hildebrand. She graduated from Berrien Springs High School in 1945. Ruth began her work career as a medical assistant to Griswald Ruth, MD in Benton Harbor. She later gained employment with Clark Equipment in Buchanan and then transferred to the Clark Equipment Distribution Center in Georgia, retiring, February 1, 1989 after twenty-seven years. Following retirement, she was employed for several years by Oglethorpe Power Corp. in Tucker, GA.
Ruth loved her church and volunteered at St. Mark’s Lutheran church in Tucker, GA in many various activities. She sang in the choir, served on various boards and as a member of her Belle Glade Estates Neighborhood Association, Ruth’s yard was always a gorgeous site with dogwood and azaleas. An avid traveler, Ruth enjoyed visiting many states and countries. She was always a gracious hostess when family and friends traveled through Georgia to and from various destinations. Ruth’s artistic talents could be seen on display in her home and gifts given to others as a china painter. She was a member and officer of the Highlighter Porcelain Artist’s Club.
Ruth is survived by her sister Loraine (Philipp) Frobel of St. Joseph; two brothers-Robert Hildebrand of Charlotte, MI, Ernest (Delores) Hildebrand of Berrien Springs; a sister-in-law Shirley Hildebrand of Berrien Springs; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings-Anita Schneider, Geraldine Fournier, Leo Hildebrand, Walter Hildebrand, and sister-in-law Kay Hildebrand.
