Robert's Obituary

Robert L. Clark, MD, 66, of Benton Harbor, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his home.  Celebration of Life Services and burial at Fort Custer National Cemetery will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Lakeland Foundation Scholarship Fund.  Those wishing to sign Bob’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Bob was born July 21, 1947 in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.  He served his country in the US Navy & Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.  For the last 32 years, he was a Pathologist at Lakeland Hospitals and Chief Medical Examiner for Berrien County, retiring from Lakeland in 2013.  He remained Berrien County Chief Medical Examiner until his passing. Bob had many interests in his free time. He was a founding member of the 5th District Medical Response Coalition, a licensed pilot & flight instructor, an accomplished artist specializing in photography, sculpting, and drawing, a Civil War History Buff, and an avid reader. He cherished the time spent with his friends touring the country on their motorcycles. Bob is survived by his wife Cheryl; his brother Charles (Linda) Clark of Henderson, NV; two nephews-Donald (Dawn) Clark, Charles (Michelle) Clark; and great nieces & nephew-Mary Elizabeth Clark & Eva and Atticus Clark.  He was preceded in death by his parents Walter H. & Mary (Long) Clark.
