Dorothy's Obituary
Dorothy Virginia Elston, 99, of St. Joseph passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
She was born to William and Helen (Gusseff) Stenback in Kalamazoo, MI, on March 28, 1914.
After graduating from Watervliet High School, Dorothy married Audi R. Elston. They raised two children, Carole Ann and Ronald Duane. Dorothy enjoyed over 30 years of serving families in the children’s department of Sears.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Audi; her son, Ronald; her brother, William Stenback; and her sister Daisy Ladwig.
She is survived by her daughter, Carole (Don) Buyze of St. Joseph; daughter-in-law, Diane (John) Mollineaux of Ashland, KY; grandchildren, Ronda (Schmidt) McGreevy, Dan (Lynn) Schmidt, Daryl (Julie) Schmidt, Michael (Amy) Elston, Vicky (Kelly) Wise and Jennifer Force; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; niece, Lorraine (Gene) Rennhack; nephews, William (Maureen) Stenback and Charles (Mary) Stenback.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 12:30 P.M., Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph, with Reverend Laurie Hartzell officiating.
