Deborah's Obituary
Deborah Dorsey Adler, 48, of St. Joseph, went to meet her Lord & Savior, Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Peter?s Church, 623 Church St., St. Joseph with Rev. Randy Doyle officiating. Cremation will follow the service with entombment of ashes at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Friday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to her children?s college fund in care of Berrien Teachers Credit Union-Attention Member Services, or the National Mental Health Institute. Deborah was born December 16, 1955 in Harrison, Arkansas to Lee & Wanda (Ryan) Dorsey. On November 27, 1976, she married Stephan Adler in St. Joseph. Deborah owned & operated Deb?s Day Care in St. Joseph for the last seventeen years. She was a member of St. Peter?s Church where she was a member of the Women?s Fellowship, the St. Peter?s Board, and a Sunday School Teacher. Deborah enjoyed gardening, camping, canoeing, animals, and traveling. Her favorite destination was Walt Disney World. She enjoyed sports and cheering for her children as they participated in their sporting activities. Deborah deeply loved her family.
Deborah is survived by her husband Stephan Adler; two daughters-Erin Adler of Detroit, Michigan attending college; Ellen Adler of St. Joseph attending Western Michigan University; her son Eric Adler-at home; her parents-Lee & Wanda Dorsey of Stevensville; her mother-in-law & father-in-law-Edward & Edna Adler of St. Joseph; four sisters-Linda Bookout of Las Vegas, NV; Karen Bert & Leta Dorsey both of St. Joseph; Brenda (Rick) Waning of Stevensville; and many nieces & nephews.
