Jeanette Schroeder

Jeanette E. Schroeder, 87, of St. Joseph, went to meet her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, Wednesday, April 03, 2019 at the Whitcomb Towers, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 8 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Robert Confer officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Jeanette was born January 11, 1932 in Benton Harbor to Lisle & Norma (Rhodes) Sikes. She graduated from St. Joseph High School, Class of 1950 and gained employment at V-M Corporation in Benton Harbor. On November 15, 1952 she married Allen E. Schroeder in St. Joseph. In 1967 Jeanette gained employment as a teacher at First Church of God Nursery School where she worked until her retirement in 1992. Jeanette was a member of First Church of God where she served in the Women of the Church of God. She devoted her life to serving her Lord & Savior. Jeanette enjoyed walking and riding bicycles with her husband and spending time with her family and many friends. Jeanette is survived by her daughters-Nancy Schaper of St. Joseph, Sharon (Jay) Rice of Palm Harbor, FL; seven grandchildren-Erik, Stephanie, Sarah, Julie (Justin), Jacqui, Joshua & Joseph; two great-grandchildren-Hailey & Patrick; and several extended family members. She was preceded in death by her father Lisle Sikes, her mother & step-father Norma (Frank) Humphrey, and her husband Allen on July 23, 2004.
