Karla's Obituary
Karla R. Ashbrook, 64, of Benton Harbor, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019, at her home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019, at 3PM, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Karla’s family is requesting to please dress as you would if you were spending the day with Karla. Karla was born on April 5, 1955, to Carl & Teresa (Cunningham) Ashbrook in Benton Harbor. She attended Lake Michigan Catholic High School and continued her education at Lake Michigan College where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Electronics. Karla worked as an Electronics Technician for Whirlpool Corp. She enjoyed quilting, keeping up to date on the latest news and politics and was an avid fan of the Pittsburg Steelers.
Karla is survived by her son Eric (Justin Amellio) Ashbrook of Niles; grandchildren Akasha Ashbrook of Niles, Max Ashbrook of Berrien Springs and Mahana Ashbrook of Niles; and siblings, Judy Nelson of Centreville, Kathie Ashbrook-Young of Benton Harbor, Karole (Dan) Porter of Hartford, Jerry (Mary) Ashbrook of Albion, MI, Ken (Tina) Ashbrook of Dewitt, MI and Mick (Mary Chris) Ashbrook of Coloma.
Karla was preceded in death by her parents, Carl & Teresa Ashbrook.
