Rosalie Ruth Krause

Rosalie R. Krause, 96, of St. Joseph, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020, at Hanson Hospice Center following a stroke she had at her daughters home. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Spring Run Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church- St. Joseph, Grace Lutheran Church- Eau Claire or Michigan Lutheran Schools. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Rosalie was born on September 14, 1923, to Andrew & Hulda (Schmidt) Nehring in Eau Claire. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School. On February 17, 1945, Rosalie married the love of her life Lester Krause Sr. in St. Joseph. They lived on Lester’s family farm which grew lots of fruits and vegetables such as, apples, grapes, cherries and asparagus. She enjoyed baking, cooking and canning with all that was raised on the farm. Rosalie worked as an Inspector of Quality Control for Heath/Zenith Company for more than ten years before her retirement. She enjoyed watching soap operas such as, Young and the Restless and Bold and Beautiful. Most of all, Rosalie loved to spend her time with her friends and family. Rosalie is survived by her daughter, Anne (Walter) Street of Dowagiac; grandchildren, Lori (John) Sobralski, Michelle (Mike) Sobralski, Vince Krause and Matthew (Nicole) Krause; great-grandchildren, Miranda (David) Bauer, Harlie Hartline and Trevor Krause; step-granddaughter Alicia Fruedenburg; and daughter-in-law Ellen Krause of St. Joseph. Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband Lester Krause in 1972; daughter Mary Ann (Alfred) Freudenburg in 2014; son Lester Krause Jr. in 2016; parents Andrew & Hulda Nehring; and brothers, Frank, Richard and William Nehring.
