Joyce's Obituary
Joyce A. Sexton, 85, of New Buffalo, MI, went home to be with her lord on Thursday-July 29, 2021, while surrounded by her family in her home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel – 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI.
Joyce was born on July 15, 1936, daughter to Elemuel and Malissie Adkins of Coeburn, VA. On May 15, 1958 she married Bernard E. Sexton and in 1959 they moved to Michigan. Bernard preceded Joyce in death on November 20, 1993. Joyce enjoyed vegetable gardening, church and spending time with her family.
Joyce is survived by three sons – Marty (Kris) Sexton, Danny (Faye) Sexton and Brian (Kathy) Sexton; grandchildren – Marty Jr., Stephanie, Nick, Mason, Jessie, John, Toby, Todd and Shelby; many great grandchildren; sisters – Gladys Yacyszyn and Barbara Bond; and many loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by four sisters – Nettie, May, Edna and Linda and three brothers – Lowell, Wayne and Don.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday-August 2, 1:00pm at Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo, with Pastor Anthony Fields officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo, MI. Visitation precedes the service from 11:00am-1:00pm at the funeral home.
