Harold M. White, 88, of New Buffalo, MI passed away on Saturday – August 7, 2021. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel – 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI. Harold was born on April 30, 1933 in Bridgman, MI to the late Harold and Margaret (Beall) White. He was a 1951 graduate of Bridgman High School. Harold served his country while in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of the New Buffalo American Legion Post #169. On September 24, 1955 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Buffalo he married Juanita Mead. For 50 years he owned and operated Mead & White Electric Company. Harold was a proud member of the Electrical Union IBEW since 1951; member of both JATC and NECA; he was devoted to the Boy Scouts of America; a former member for many years of the New Buffalo Planning and Zoning Boards; and an avid hunter and fisherman. Harold is survived by his wife of over 65 years – Juanita; his children – Daniel (Tamra Gatchell) White of Bridgman, Donald (Andrea) White of Paw Paw, MI, Robert (Joy Pitts) White of New Buffalo, MI and Deborah (Tony) Stachowiak of Belmont, MI; grandchildren – Matthew (Leann) Stachowiak, Bradley (Lynde) Stachowiak, Dr. Evan White, Dr. Abby White, Allyson White and Aidan White; a great granddaughter – Clara Stachowiak; and brothers – Dr. Hal (Connie) White of Sebring, FL and David White of Bridgman, MI. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday – August 12, 11:00am, at St. Mary of the Lake Church in New Buffalo. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo. Visitation with the family is on Wednesday – August 11, from 6:00-8:00pm, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday from 10:00-11:00am at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
