Esther's Obituary
Esther Elaine Robson, 100, of South Haven and formerly of Taylor, Michigan, died Monday, August 6, 2012 at Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. She was born March 29, 1912 to James and Willamina (Kuminski) Benson in Detroit, Michigan. Esther married Reginald Robson on May 9, 1936 in Detroit. Esther attended First United Methodist Church of South Haven. Esther enjoyed sewing, knitting, oil painting and quilting. Esther worked for Sew and Save Sewing and Fabric Shop in Dearborn for twenty years before retiring in 1978. Esther enjoyed watching the Detroit Red Wings and Tigers while drinking a cold Miller High Life beer and a Dumb Dumb Sucker. She also loved spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Reginald Robson. Four sisters – Thelma Huff, Dorothy Dresser, Cora Tybinka and Emily Linck One brother – James Benson, Jr.
Esther is survived by her daughter – Connie (Louis) Wall of South Haven. Four grandchildren – Scott (Heidi) Wall, Robert Wall, Jason Wall, and Christine (Chad) Darke. 6 great grandchildren – Jared, Sierra, Allyson, Morgan, Robyn, and Dayna.
Memorial services will take place at the First United Methodist Church in South Haven on Sunday, August 19th, 2012 at 2:00 pm with Rev. John Fisher officiating. Esther will be laid to rest at McDowell Cemetery in Casco Township. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Salvation Army, SHHS Choir Boosters or First United Methodist Church Music Fund.
