Mary Lou's Obituary
Mary Lou Hodge, 82, of Bloomingdale died April 9 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
She was born July 22, 1929 in Allegan, Michigan to William John and Eva (Williams) Wearne. Mary Lou graduated from Allegan High School in 1947. She married Willis “Bill” Hodge on September 13, 1947 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Mary Lou worked as a Hammer Fitter for Everett Piano Factory. She also worked as a waitress. Mary Lou loved to play bingo, bowl and play golf at Cheshire Hills Golf Club.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Bill Hodge who died in 2011. Also by a brother, Eugene Wearne.
She is survived by her two sons – Bill (Karla) Hodge of Vicksburg, Michigan and Larry (Mary) Hodge of Farmington, Minnesota. Seven grandchildren – Ed (Tammy) Hodge, Shannon (Michael) Mannie, Jason Hodge, Joe Hodge, Scott (Maggie) Hodge, Thomas Decker, and Jessica Hodge. Thirteen great grandchildren – Kaila, Jenna, Nick, Krystal, Devin, Gavin, Brailyn, Gianna, Matthew, Mark, Jaycob, Dylan, and Danielle. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be Friday, April 13 from 12 – 1 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin Friday at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Daniel Kelly officiating. Kindly share your thoughts and memories on the family’s online guest book at www.FilbrandtFFH.com.
