Harold Holman

Harold Holman, 86, of South Haven died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at River Ridge Retirement Community in South Haven. Harold was born February 18, 1926, in South Haven, Michigan, to Reginald and Evelyn (Hubbard) Holman. Harold graduated from South Haven High School in 1943. After several years of working on fruit farms, he began his construction career with Olson Brothers & Canonie Construction in South Haven. Most of Harold’s career was with MacLean Construction in Ludington, Michigan. Harold married Janice Ruell on April 27, 1947, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in South Haven, where he became an active member in 1960. Harold will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of family, quick wit and sincere faith. He is preceded in death by his parents and oldest son, Michael James Holman. He is survived by his wife – Janice Holman of South Haven, sister Natalie (Brady) of Auburn, Indiana, and three sons Thomas (Brenda) Holman of Ridgedale, Missouri, James (Cynthia) Holman of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, and Joseph (Adrienne) Holman of Fishers, Indiana. Harold had eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, March 30, from 6 to 8 pm at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Church in South Haven on Saturday, March 31, at 11:00 am with Pastor Clint A. Rogas Jr. officiating. Burial take place at Lakeview Cemetery, his final resting place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 718 Arbor Ct. South Haven, MI 49090.
