Cecil Burrous

Cecil A. Burrous Sr., 79, of Coloma, MI, died on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at home. He was born on May 27, 1932 to Leonard and Fern (Mason) Burrous in South Haven, MI. Cecil was a 1951 graduate of Covert High School. Cecil managed Palisades Park Country Club for nearly 20 years retiring in 2002 from construction. He was the Building Inspector for Covert Township for many years and also had his Real Estate license. Cecil was a member of the Covert Lions Club, the River Bend Boat Club and the South Haven Moose Lodge. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time at the cottage in Newago. Most of all, Cecil loved watching sports on television. His favorite team was the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings – Bill, Violet, Effie and Donna Burrous.

Cecil is survived by his wife – Nancy Burrous of Coloma, MI, his children – Mia Burrous of South Haven, MI, Leonard Burrous of Bangor, MI, Cecil (Linda) Burrous of South Haven, MI. His step-children – Diana Sykes of Homestead, FL, Robert Enos of Coloma, MI, Sharry Harasewicz of South Haven, MI, Bill Enos of South Haven, MI, John Enos of Billings, Montana. 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and his brother – Don (Shirley) Burrous of Covert, MI.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 22 from 5-7 p.m. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Memorial services will begin at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
