Lance Peterson

Lance Peterson, 58, of South Haven, MI died on November 26, 2011 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI. He was born on September 30, 1953 to Walter and Gertrude (Peany) Peterson in Berwyn, IL.

Lance was a 1971 graduate of Marquette High School in Michigan City, Indiana. He then graduated with a BA and MA from WMU. Lance worked in finance and accounting for many years. He was self employed and owned the Lance J. Peterson Accounting Services and Restaurant Accounting Services. Lance most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing cribbage, antiquing, cooking and was a meticulous gift wrapper.

He is preceded in death by his father – Walter Peterson and his brother – Randall Peterson. Also by Clayton and Gerry Canning and Dan O’Guin

Lance is survived by his wife – Terri Peterson of South Haven, MI. His children – Kevin (Estelle) Peterson of Herndon, VA, Keith (Kristen) Peterson of Portage, MI, Kristie (Christopher) DiPiero of Kalamazoo, MI. His mother – Gertrude Peterson of New Buffalo, MI. His brother – Craig (Meleena) Peterson of Freeport, MI. Two sister-in-laws – Sue Peterson of New Buffalo, MI, and Sue O’Guin of South Haven, MI. Granddaughters – Ashlee and Katherine DiPiero and Alexis Peterson. Three nephews – Tony (Ayla) Gearheart, Brian (Jill Emery) O’Guin and Christopher O’Guin. Two nieces – Sarah Peterson and Amber Peterson.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 1 from 6-8 pm at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral will be on Friday, December 2 at 1:00 pm also at the funeral home with Rev. Jeanne Kucks officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Kalamazoo Nature Center, 7000 N. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo, MI.
