Dennis's Obituary
Dennis Richter, age 65, of South Haven passed away Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
He was born May 2, 1946 in Battle Creek, Michigan. His parents were Glenn and Mabel Richter – Knotts. He grew up and spent his life in South Haven where his early years as a young man were spent on Lake Michigan on the fishing tug the Butch Lafond owned by his parents. Dennis also did mechanical work. Dennis enjoyed time with his family and his many friends. He looked forward to his early morning coffee time group and his daily visit to the local Barber Shop. Dennis’s best friend was his wife Polly with whom he shared many happy memories during their 28 married years. Dennis will be remembered for his sense of humor, his wonderful laugh, and his well known stubbornness. His appearance was gruff but his heart was soft. He loved all animals; they held a special place in his heart. His pet family will miss him and all the love he gave them.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers – Wayne Richter and Gary Smith, and a sister – Lorna Masters.
