F. Eilleen's Obituary
F. Eilleen Wood, 97, of South Haven died Thursday, September 8 at Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.
She was born October 31, 1913 in Boise, Idaho to Ross V. and Gail H. (Maxfield) Dilley. Her family moved back to Lacota when Eileen was 3 years old. Eileen and MJ owned the grocery store in Lacota from 1935 to 1973. Eilleen worked as a Post Mistress for the U.S. Postal Service, serving the Lacota area for years. She was active in 4-H Extension Club. She was a member of the Lacota Service Club. Her main hobby was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed teaching this art.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Martin J. Wood. Son – Gerald R. Wood and sisters – Louise Dilley Prange and Jacqueline Dilley Trainer and brother – Varnum M. Dilley.
She is survived by her son – William (Barbara) Wood of Lacota, Michigan. Daughter – Margaret (John) Muste of Midland, Michigan. Daughter-in-law – Robin Wood of Atlanta, Georgia. Six grandchildren. One sister – Ruth Stein of South Haven, Michigan also survives.
Private family services are being held. Burial will take place at Stephenson Cemetery in Casco Township. Memorial contributions can be made to Lacota United Methodist Church, Alzheimer’s Association or to the American Cancer Society.
