Elaine's Obituary
Elaine Sharp, 89, of Glenn, Michigan died on April 22 at Resthaven Care Center in Holland, Michigan.
She was born on Nov. 11, 1921 in Chicago, IL to John and Cora (Knapp) Zwart. Elaine married Stanley Sharp in Chicago. Elaine and Stan owned the Stan-Lane Grocery store in both Kibbe and Glenn for many years. She was very proud to be a charter member of the South Haven Hospice. She worked as a teaching assistant in the Glenn School. She was a member of the Glenn United Methodist Church. Elaine lived at River Ridge Assisted Living in South Haven for four years before moving into Resthaven Care Center in Holland.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Sharp, who died Jan. 24, 1994. Also by a son, Walt, her parents and three brothers and two sisters.
Elaine is survived by her daughter, Barb (Bruce) Black of Glenn. Grandsons, Dan Black of Grand Rapids, Bob (Susan) Black of Farmington, MI and granddaughter, Becky (Kevin) Eakes of Fenton, MI. Four great-grandchildren - Skyler & Peyton Black and Zachary & Zoe Eakes.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 28, from 6 to 8 PM at Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday, April 29, at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with
Rev. Stephen Small officiating. Burial will take place at Taylor Cemetery in Ganges Township. Memorial Contributions may be made to Resthaven Care Center or River Ridge Retirement Village. Kindly share your thoughts and memories on the family’s online website at www.FilbrandtFFH.com.
