Roberta Wenban

Roberta Jean Wenban, 85, of Weston, Florida, formerly of South Haven, died Thursday, March 31 at her home.

She was born February 27, 1926 in Lacota, Michigan to William and Mae (Robinson) Barnes. Roberta graduated from South Haven High School in 1944. Roberta attended Cosmetology School. She married Maynard Wenban. Roberta worked as a beautician.

Roberta lived her happiest days when she was caring for others, she put the needs of others ahead of herself and found great satisfaction in giving her best to others. Later in life, Roberta worked for many years at a retail store, Lord and Taylor where she made many good friends, whom she spoke of often. She also enjoyed a few winters retired in Sebring, FL living near her sister Barbara Sutton and her niece Karen and David Bowers. Roberta loved people, garage sales, movies, bingo and quality time with friends and family.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Maynard Wenban and brother – Bill Barnes.

She is survived by one son, Dan Wenban and two daughters, Cindy Wenban and Jane (Mike) Schmidt, four grandchildren; Lesley, Brian, Taryn, Trevor and her sister Barbara Sutton of South Haven, Michigan.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 5 from 1 – 2 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor George Flemming officiating. After the service, a memorial graveside service will take place at Chambers Cemetery in Geneva Township.
