Robert's Obituary

In loving memory of Robert (Bob) Winter, 69, of Grand Junction, Michigan, who passed away Sunday, February 13, 2011, at South Haven Hospital, South Haven, Michigan, after a short battle against cancer.

Bob was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 3, 1941, to Robert and Helen (Brichta) Winter. The family then moved to Westmont, Illinois. Bob then served 4 years in the Air Force. Bob married Joanna Getz on September 21, 1995. He drove a truck for 40 years and also was a heavy equipment driver by trade. His knowledge of engines was unsurpassed. Bob became an avid fisherman, and his boat "Perch on This" was anchored in South Haven, Michigan.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Joanna, one son Troy (Penny) of Durand, Michigan, and two daughters Stacy Winter of Phoenix, Arizona, and Kelly Winter (Tom Trudnos) of Aurora, Illinois, two step-sons James (Jayna) Plant of Dexter, New York, and John (Melissa) Plant of Marion, Illinois, and one sister, Jacqueline (Bob) Lang of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews, one grand niece, fourteen grandchildren, and one great grand daughter.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 3 – 6 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home, services will begin on Saturday at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Linstrom officiating.
