Larry's Obituary
Larry “Baldy” Roe, 81, of South Haven died Tuesday, January 25 at home.
He was born July 14, 1929 in South Haven, Michigan to Ward and Helen (Cummins) Roe. Larry graduated from South Haven High School. Larry served his country in the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Coast Guard. Larry married Lou Ann Thompson on January 15, 1955 at the First English Lutheran Church in South Haven He worked as a supervisor in customer service for Indiana & Michigan Electric for 30 years retiring in 1995. Larry enjoyed camping, photography & scuba diving, Larry also loved to swim and play cards, especially cribbage and pinochle. Larry was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Larry was a founding member of the Loyals, and ushered for several years and Larry once served as a Sunday school teacher.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his wife – Lou Ann Roe who died in 2007. His two sister – Frances Brinks and Nancy Roe. Two brothers – Harry and Phillip Roe.
He is survived by his children – Denise (Bill) Lobb of Mukwonago, Wisconsin, Cindy (Wes) Bloemsma of Plainwell, Michigan and James Michael Roe of South Haven, Michigan. Four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2-4 on Sunday, January 30 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral serviced will be Monday at 10:30 A.M. at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Linstrom officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, South Haven, Michigan. Memorial contributions can be made to Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
