Nancy Merleau

Nancy's Obituary

Nan “Nancy” Merleau, 78, of South Haven died Sunday, December 26 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.

She was born February 16, 1932 in Fennville, Michigan to Cecil W. and Wilhelnmina (VanHartesveldt) Rosenow. She graduated from Fennville High School in 1950. Nan married James D. Merleau on June 30, 1950 in Fennville. Nan along with her husband Jim owned and operated the What Not Inn in Ganges from 1968 to 1981. She also worked in the office for Pullman Industries for 2 years. Nan was an active member of the Casco United Methodist Church. Nan was also a member of the Casco Ladies Aid.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – James Merleau who died in 2002 and her sister – Velma Naughtin in 2002.

She is survived by her son – Jim (Diana) Merleau of Fennville, Michigan. Six grandchildren – Steven Merleau, Stacey Merleau, Jimmie Merleau, Chris (Tisha) Easterly, Amy Koller and Katie Easterly. 10 great-grandchildren. One sister – Phyllis Cartwright of Douglas, Michigan. Several nieces and nephews also survives.
