Thomas's Obituary
Thomas Cyril Desmet, 62, of South Haven died Monday, August 9, at his home.
He was born May 18, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan to Cyril and Harriet (Josefiak) Desmet. He graduated from St. Paul’s High School in Grosse Pt. in 1966 and received his Bachelors Degree from Eastern Michigan University. He also earned his Master's Degree from the University of Michigan and remained a life long Wolverine sports fan. Tom worked for Kalamazoo Lakes Sewer and Water Authority in Saugatuck for the past 16 years. Tom enjoyed reading history and philosophy books. Thomas also loved basketball.
He is preceded in death by his father – Cyril Desmet.
He is survived by his 2 sons – Sam Desmet of Marquette, Michigan and Joe Desmet of South Haven, Michigan. His mother – Harriet Desmet of Tecumseh, Michigan. 3 brothers – Chris Desmet of Tecumseh, Michigan, John (Cathy) Desmet of Grass Lake, Michigan, Dan (Laura) Desmet of Tipton, Michigan. 2 sisters – Terese (Joe) Chapin of Milan, Michigan and Julie Desmet of Lexington, Kentucky. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
