Doroteio Soto's Obituary
Doroteio Soto Corona Sr., 70, of Bangor died Wednesday, April 14 at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
He was born February 6, 1940 in Round Rock, Texas to Gregorio and Petra (Soto) Corona. Doroteio married Trinidad Ramon on June 2, 1962 in Seguin, Texas. Doroteio worked as a cook for Dean Foods Michigan Fruit Canners in Benton Harbor, Michigan for 35 years retiring in 2002. He helped out at Open Door Ministries, he was an assistant softball coach in Bangor and was a parish rep. to the Bishop and was a member of the San Felipe Catholic Church in Pearl, Michigan. Doroteio enjoyed Fishing, his flower gardens, and mowing the lawn. Doroteio loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was a member of St. Basil Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his wife – Trinidad Ramon Corona who died in 2001. His sister – Donna Ramon also precedes him.
He is survived by his children, three sons – Doroteio R. (Diana) Corona Jr., of Grand Junction, Michigan, Norman Corona and Raymond Corona both of South Haven, Michigan. Two daughters – Irene (Mark) Hills of South Haven, Michigan and Brenda (Randy) Patterson of Grand Junction, Michigan. Nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Five siblings – Matilda Campos, Dominga (Andrew) Rosas, Gilbert (Betty) Corona, David (Cindy) Corona and Reina (Ernest) Leal also survive.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 20 from 6 – 8 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Basil Catholic Church with Rev. Father Robert Flickinger officiating. Burial will take place at Chambers Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Basil Catholic Church.
