Simadie Lee Anderson

Simadie Lee Anderson, 69, of Pullman died Thursday, February 4 at Borgess Pipp Hospital in Plainwell, Michigan.

She was born December 12, 1940 in Marianna, Arkansas to Calvin Jones and Roseanna McKinzie. Simadie graduated from South Haven High School in 1986. Simadie married Johnnie C. Anderson on December 24, 1955 in Arkansas. Simadie worked as Deputy Clerk for Lee Township for many years. She also worked the election polls in Lee Township and in East St. Louis, Illinois. Simadie had been a member of Galilee Central Missionary Baptist Church in East St. Louis, Illinois where she was a financial clerk, church secretary, Junior Choir director and the Junior Usher Board director. Simadie was a member of the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Pullman where she was an usher, choir member, church secretary, and financial clerk.

She is preceded in death by her father – Calvin Jones. Father – Pastor William Bronson Sr. and her husband – John C. Anderson who died in 1991. One brother – Melvin Bronson and Two sisters – Lettie McLucas and Willa Ve Lavondo. Two sons – Antwyne Anderson Sr. and Cossie Beason Anderson. Grandson – Elijah Lewis and granddaughter – Keianna Anderson.

She is survived by her children – Ladonna (Sherman) Watson of Peru, Indiana, Dianne (Randy) Morrison of Pullman, Michigan, Shelia (Jimmy) Kelson of South Haven, Michigan, Vivian Dobbins of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Johnnie Anderson Jr. of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Calvin Anderson of East St. Louis, Illinois, and Donnie Anderson of Kalamazoo, Michigan. 25 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren. 3 Goddaughters – Brenda Foster of South Haven, Michigan, Renina Jackson of Chicago, Illinois, Simadie Ann of Inkster, Michigan and one Godson-Cameron Ford. Three brothers – Rev.William (Grace) Bronson Jr. of Gaston, Alabama, Johnny(Barry) Bronson of St. Louis, Missouri and Earl (Elora) Bronson of Inkster, Michigan. Her mother-Roseanna Bronson of Pullman, Michigan. Three uncles-James McKinzie of Chicago, Illinois, Henry McKinzie of E. St. Louis, Illinois, and Darnell McKinzie of Hot Springs, Arkansas. One Aunt- Ivarria Wilburn of Pullman, Michigan.

Wake will Saturday, February 13, from 11 – 12 at the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Pullman. Funeral services will begin Saturday at 12:00 P.M. at the church with Pastor Alfred Gene Bailey officiating. Burial will take place at Lee Township Cemetery.
