Rosemary's Obituary
Rosemary Shurn, 57, of Benton Harbor died Monday, September 28 at Orchard Grove Extended Care Facility in Benton Harbor.
She was born March 27, 1952 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to T.C. Ferguson and Vennie Crenshaw. Rosemary graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1969. Rosemary proudly served her country in the U.S. Army Reserves. She worked as an office manager for Rural King Supply in Niles for over a year. Rosemary was a member of the Spiritual Vission Church of God in Christ in Niles, MI under the leadership of Pastor Elijah Thompson III, where she was a Sunday School teacher and president of the choir. Rosemary loved to read and arrange flowers.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her adopted parents - Robert & Mary Shurn. 2 sisters – Louise Diggs and Sylvia Shurn.
She is survived by 6 brothers – Rory Shurn of Milwaukee, WI, Willie (Christine) Crenshaw of Grover, MO, Walter Crenshaw of Benton Harbor, MI, James (Dolly) Crenshaw Benton Harbor, MI, Robert (Katherine) Vaughn of Benton Harbor, MI and Ralph Crenshaw of Benton Harbor, MI. 5 sisters – Charlotte (Henry) Snead of Berrien Springs, MI, Mildred (Willie) Leslie of Benton Harbor, MI, Alma (Steve) White of Benton Harbor, MI, Jeanette (Elijah) Thompson of Benton Harbor, MI and Christine (Raynard) Brown of Kalamazoo, Michigan. 2 Special niece – Carolyn (Dwight) Bowman of Benton Harbor, MI and Carol (Wendell) Dancy of Fairview, IL. One God son – Jasmond Jones. Special Great Niece – Jasmine Thompson. Several nieces and nephews. Special friends – Howard Scott and Sharon Burton also survive.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 2 at 11:00 A.M. at the Greater Faith Apostolic Church with Pastor Elijah Thompson III officiating 1995 E. Britain, Benton Harbor, MI. Wake will be held from 10 – 11 at the church before the service. Burial will take place at Crystal Springs Cemetery.
