Jean's Obituary
Jean A. Mosley, 76, of South Haven went to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 12, at her home.
She was born May 15, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to LaVelle and Willire (Ellington) Neal.
Jean graduated from Covert High School in 1951. Jean married Ernest C. Mosley Sr. on April 29, 1951 in Hartford, Michigan. Jean was always very active in the community. At one time she was the park director for Elkenburg Park and served on South Haven’s Housing Commisssion. Jean had been a teachers aid at Central Elementary School. Jean has also worked at different manufacturing jobs in South Haven. Her last employment was with Do It Corporation where she worked for eight years retiring in 1994.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Ernest Mosley Sr. in 2001. Three sons – Curtis, Dennis and Ernest C.. Mosley Jr. Her brother – LaVelle Neal Jr. also precedes her.
She is survived by one son – Darryl (Rebecca) Mosley of South Haven, Michigan. Four daughters – Doretha (Joe) Ardoin of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Tracy (John) DeFrance of Atlanta, Georgia, Donna (Glenn) Ford of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Natalie (Steven) Cole of Zeeland, Michigan. Daughter-in-law – Ollietha Mosley of South Haven, Michigan. Eleven grandchildren and Eleven great grandchildren. Four sisters – Doris Jordan of Chicago, Illinois, Arlene Maddox of Fresno, California, Loretta Grier of Sacramento, California, and Patricia Whitfield of Ann Arbor, Michigan. One brother – Clarence Neal of Phoenix, Arizona also survives.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 17, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 18, at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
