Florence Emilie's Obituary
Florence Emilie Rasmussen, 81, of Dowagiac died Wednesday, July 8 at Lakeland Specialty Hospital in Berrien Center, Michigan.
She was born May 26, 1928 in Lake Forest, Illinois to Walter and Nanna (Bern) Rasmussen. Florence work for Remington Rand in the office and Kay Wood Corporation. Florence was a member of the Saron Lutheran Church in St. Joseph for over 60 years where she was active and served as head of the Alter Guild for over 25 years. Florence was a lover of all animals.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her brother – Fred Rasmussen.
She is survived by her sister – Elinor Van Egmond of Watervliet, Michigan. Three nephews – Ralph (Pam) Schriner – of Watervliet, Michigan, Randy (Cheryl) Schriner of Coloma, Michigan and Roy (Sherri) Van Egmond of South Haven, Michigan. Four great nephews – Scott, Kyle, Derrick Schriner and Timothy Parrgin. Two great nieces – Stephanie Broadhagen and Tiffany VanWy. Family members - Tyler, Kaylei and Kasidy also survive.
Visitation will be Monday, July 13 from 10 – 11 at the Saron Evangelical Lutheran Church. Funeral services will begin Monday at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Rev. Joan Oleson officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac. Memorial contributions can be made to the Saron Lutheran Church or the family.
