Mary Ann's Obituary
Mary Ann Nelson, 74, of South Haven’s Casco Township died Thursday, May 28 at home.
She was born February 2, 1935 in England, Arkansas to George and Vera (Terry) Denny. Mary Ann graduated from South Haven High School in 1953. She married Fred Nelson on April 2, 1955 in South Haven, Michigan. Mary Ann worked as a cook for South Haven Public School for over 30 years. Mary Ann enjoyed taking care of people and was always there for anyone who needed help. Mary Ann loved being with her husband. After her Fred’s death, she always looked forward to going home with him.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband of over 50 years – Fred Nelson who died in 2007. Brother – George Denny and a sister, Geraldine Canning.
She is survived by two sons – Paul (Kay) Nelson and Jeff (Lisa) Nelson both of South Haven. Six grandchildren – Dana Nelson, Brandon Nelson, Ryan Nelson, Zachary Nelson, Dylan Nelson and Jared Nelson. One great grand daughter – Allison Nelson.
