Marie Helen Bollwahn

Marie Helen Bollwahn, 78, of South Haven died Monday, May 18 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids.

She was born June 11, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to Arthur and Bertha (Schnieder) Bendeich. Marie was in the high school graduating class of1948. She married Larry Bollwahn on October 4, 1952 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Marie worked as a nurse’s aid at South Haven Community Hospital along with S.E. Overton Company and Crown Frame in Ganges. Marie also did child care out of her home. Marie was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband – Larry Bollwahn of South Haven, Michigan. One son – Paul (Linda) Bollwahn and one daughter – Debra Bollwahn both of South Haven, Michigan. Two grandchildren – Brooke (Chad) Stotler and Jillian Bollwahn. One brother – Carl Bendeich of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Two nieces – Lisa Bendeich and Lori Holaack, one nephew – Mark Bendeich also survives.

Visitation will be from 6 – 8 on Wednesday, May 20 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Clint Rogas officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
