Mae's Obituary
Mae Grace Ross, 87 of South Haven, Michigan died Saturday, April 25 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Mae was born on May 4, 1921 to Everett and Sophia (Gratz) Thomas in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. She worked for the Rock County Courthouse as a secretary for 20 years retiring in 1983. Mae married James Humbert on Sept. 20, 1943 in Belmont, Wisconsin. James died in 1982. Mae then married John “Jack” Ross in 1986. Jack died in 1997. Mae loved crossword puzzles and reading. Mae also enjoyed traveling and her family. She was a member of the Waldwick United Methodist Church in Waldwick, Wisconsin and she also attended the Cargill United Methodist Church in Janesville, Wisconsin.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husbands – James Humbert and Jack Ross and 3 brothers – Donald Thomas, Jack Thomas and Jerrold Thomas.
She is survived by her daughters – Carolyn Werner of Payson, Arizona, Mary (Jim) Harpold of South Haven, Michigan, Vicki (Gary) Gransee of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin and Susan (Steve) Roeber of Milton, Wisconsin. 1 sister – Dorothy Iverson of Payson, Arizona. Sister - law - Carol Thomas of Dodgeville, Wisconsin. 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild also survives.
