Margaret A. Andrews, 83, of South Haven, Michigan died on March 15, 2009 at South Haven Community Hospital.
Margaret was born July 8, 1925 to Ernest and Gertrude (Sontag) Smith. Margaret graduated from South Haven High School in 1943. She married Arthur Andrews on September 13, 1947 in South Haven. Margaret was an employee of Citizens Bank where she worked for 40 years. Margaret loved to draw and paint. She was a member of the South Haven Art Association and participated in local art shows. After retirement, she enjoyed crafts, flower arranging and buying and selling glassware.
Margaret was a co-owner of Murphy’s Mall until 2002 and continued to keep an antique booth and work at the mall until her recent illness.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her son - Gerald Andrews who died in 2008 and one brother – Robert Smith.
Margaret is survived by her husband – Arthur Andrews of South Haven, Michigan. Four daughters – Veronica (Rich) Anderson of New Harmony, Indiana, Diane (Marc) Brinks, Susan (Mark) Hadaway and Mary (Don) Frazier all of South Haven, Michigan. Two sisters – Shirley Jillson and Pat (Huram) Lockwood of South Haven, Michigan also survives.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 19 from 6 – 8 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Basil Catholic Church with Rev. Father Robert Flickinger officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Basil School.
