Margaret Vandenberg

Margaret Olsen Vandenberg, age 92, of Coloma, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend died Saturday, February 21, in South Haven. Margaret, “Grandma Marge, G.G.” will always be remembered by her family and friends for her strength of character and athleticism; a strong, loving, kind, and giving person who lived life to the fullest, earning a place in the hearts of all who knew her. Marge was born November 27, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Christine Olsen. Before beginning her career as a physical education teacher, she was a varsity letter winner at the University of Illinois in Champagne. She enjoyed animals, watching and playing sports, playing cards, and vacationing with family and friends. Marge was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She will be greatly missed by her son, Stu (Judy) Vandenberg of Mound, MN, and daughter Sue (Al) Stampfly of Coloma, MI, grandchildren Wendy, Dawn, Mike, Sara, and great-grandchildren Katey, Adam, Abby and Sean. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at the Coloma United Methodist Church on Sunday, March 8 at 3:00 PM. The family would like to thank South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community and South Haven Hospice for their care and compassion.
