Maurice's Obituary
Maurice Lavar Simmons, 28, of Holland died Thursday, May 22 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.
He was born September 25, 1979 in Chicago, Illinois to Michael Stoner and Claudette Stringer. Maurice was an entrepreneur and worked as a clothing business manager. He liked to travel, shop, read and go to shows and plays. Maurice was a comedian, he made everyone laugh.
He is survived by five children – Mikheul Kirkwood and Montyerrah Simmons both of Chicago, Illinois, Maurice M. Simmons and Aliya Trinity Simmons both of Holland, Michigan, Armonty Hudson of Kalamazoo, Michigan and his unborn baby girl – Simmons. Companion – Courtni Gist. father – Michael Stoner of Chicago, Illinois. Mother – Claudette (Tommy) Stringer of Holland, Michigan. Three – brothers – Lamons David Simmons of Holland, Michigan, Michael Dean of Chicago, Illinois, and Tommy Stringer Jr. of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Three sisters – LaToya Simmons of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Lisa Stoner of Chicago, Illinois and Shanice Stringer of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Wake will be Wednesday, May 28 from 11 – 1 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with the Rev. Adrian Massenburg officiating.
