George's Obituary
George Harold La Coss, 80, of South Haven died Tuesday, March 4 at South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.
He was born August 31, 1927 in South Haven, Michigan Joseph and Bernie (Wellington) La Coss. George served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Rosemary Covert on December 12, 1966 in Las Vegas, Nevada. George worked as a custodian for the South Haven Community Hospital for 14 years retiring in 1989. Before working at the hospital he worked at Everett Piano Company and the Niagra Chemical Company. He enjoyed playing pool and shuffleboard.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his brother- Milton La Coss who died in 1997.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years – Rosemary La Coss of South Haven, Michigan. One sister – Nancy Cobbler of West Union, Ohio also survives.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 6, from 6 to 8 PM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, March 7, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Koller officiating. Burial will take place at North Shore Memorial Gardens in Hagar Shores, Michigan.
