Craig's Obituary

Craig Alan Klapp, 56, of South Haven died Wednesday, February 27 at Home.

He was born April 8, 1951 in St. Joseph, Michigan to Herbert and Carol (Kampinnen) Klapp. Craig married Donna Senick on August 25, 1973 in Lathrup Village, Michigan
Craig worked for Ascom Inc. in Wyoming, Michigan. Craig enjoyed life and cherished the blessings his Savior had granted him .Craig lived every moment with passion and determination to bring a smile to anyone who entered his life. He was an avid golfer and talented musician, carpenter, and had always served his Lord by extending his loyalty and friendship to all of his brothers and sisters in Christ. Above all Craig remained a pillar of love to those around him. There was no greater love, than what had always been the very closest to his heart; his family. “Papa” as he was known by his beloved grandchildren, were the spirit of his soul, and the unique place he held for them in his heart, was and will forever be infinite. How blessed all who shared his love for life will remain a living part of each of us, now and always. “Papa” will never stop contributing to the love we will always have, and his love will go on with all of us. Craig was a member of Hope Reformed Church in South Haven.

He is survived by his wife – Donna Klapp of South Haven, Michigan. Two daughters – Amanda (Shaun) Bredeweg of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Cara (Jason) Montgomery of Holland, Michigan. One son – Craig Andrew Klapp of South Haven, Michigan. Parents – Herbert and Carol Klapp of St. Joseph, Michigan Three grandchildren – Alexis, Hanna and Caleb. Three brothers – Jeff Klapp of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, Kerry Klapp of Bartlet, Illinois and Tom (Cindy) Klapp of Chicago, Illinois.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 1 from 1 – 3 and 6 – 8 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Memorial services will be Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at the Hope Reformed Church with Pastor Curry Pikkaart officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Stepping Stones of South Haven or Hope Reformed Youth Group.
