Hope's Obituary

Hope Ann Card, 65, of South Haven died Thursday, December 6 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

She was born March 10, 1942 in Defiance, Ohio to Guy and Adeline (Floehr) Michael. Hope graduated from Central Ohio Technical College with a degree in nursing. Hope worked as a Registered Nurse in public health and hospice care. Hope volunteered for many organizations in the area, including Lories Place in Benton Harbor, Michigan Maritime Museum, South Haven Memorial Library, and the South Haven Center for the Arts.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband – Roger Card and two sons – Matthew and Michael Card.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Nathaniel and Jennifer Card of The Dalles, Oregon. Three brothers – Larry and Frances Michael of Highland, Illinois; Marlyn and Judy Moon of Hillsdale, Michigan; and Laddie and Evelyn Michael of Granville, Ohio. Two sisters – Faith and Roger Kaufmann of Reading, Michigan; and Lillian and Ken Lee of Columbus, Ohio.

Memorial services will be Friday, December 14 at 1:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church of South Haven with Rev. John Fisher officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Matthew David Card Scholarship Fund, Michigan Maritime Museum or the South Haven Memorial Library.
