Zelma Marie's Obituary

Zelma Marie Agnew, 99, of South Haven formerly of Bay City died Wednesday, October 3 at Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in South Haven.

She was born January17, 1908 in Montpelier, Ohio to Emerson and Ida (Ricketts) Haines. Zelma graduated from Montpelier High School and attended Hillsdale College where she met and married John Agnew on August 24, 1930 in Northwest Twp., Ohio. Zelma volunteered in Bay City
at the First Methodist Church Sunday School, Choir, Vacation Bible School, Girl Scouts, Home Economics and the PTA.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband _ John Agnew who died in 1979. Her brother – Clarence Haines and sister – Lelah Herriman also preceded her.

She is survived by her two daughters – Sylvia (Glenn) Sperry of South Haven, Michigan and Mary Agnew of Salisbury, Maryland, .five grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. One sister Esther Fox of VanWert, Ohio also survives.

Memorial services will take place Sunday, October 7 at 1:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor John Fisher officiating.
