Albert's Obituary

Albert J. Widner, 82, of Gobles died Thursday, July 5 at Allegan General Hospital.

He was born September 24, 1924 in Monett, Arkansas to Mandy (Ring) and Sidney Widner. Albert married Ruth M. Harvey in 1943 in Lake City, Arkasas. Albert worked at Eckrich Meats in Kalamazoo retiring in 1987 after several years of service. He was a member of the Pinedale SDA in Gobles. Albert loved to sing and play the guitar.
He also loved to farm.

He is preceded in death along with his parents by his first wife – Ruth M. Widner who died in 2003 and his sister – Evelyn Brown.

He is survived by his wife – Thelma Widner of Gobles, Michigan. 3 sons – Lonnie (Sharon) Widner and Larry (Sandra)Widner both of Gobles, Michigan and Al (Linda) Widner of Concord, Michigan. One daughter – Ruth (James) Cook of Gobles, Michigan. 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. One brother – Claude Widner of Abbeys Ville, Alabama. 3 sisters – Naidene McConnell of Abbeville, Alabama, Melba Coon of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Maudie Leitz of Phoenix, Arizona also survive.

Visitation will be from 3 - 5 on Sunday, July 8 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 A.M. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Burial will take place at North Shore Memory Gardens in Hagar Shores. Memorial contributions can be made to South Haven Area Hospice.
