Kathleen's Obituary
Kathleen Madry, 105, of South Haven died Friday, August 18 at Health Care and Retirement Corp. in Kalamazoo.
She was born October 12, 1900 in Pulaski, Tennessee to Nelson Nathaniel and America (Sykes) Reynolds. Kathleen taught school in Pulaski and in Nashville Tennessee for many years. She moved to South Haven 53 years ago. Kathleen married Ewell Madry on November 10, 1919. She was a member of the Kibbie Community Church. Kathleen loved music and was treasurer of the Kibbie Community Church for over 50 years.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Ewell who died on February 1, 1972. One son – Nelson Madry and her twin sister - Josephine who died in 1986.
She is survived by 5 children – Willis (Annetta) Madry of South Haven, Michigan, Ewell (Willie Mae) Madry of South Haven, Michigan, Kathleen Morris of Gary, Indiana, Janie Willis of New Orleans, Louisiana and Zenobia Marable of Nashville, Tennessee. 27 grandchildren, 81 great grandchildren, 107 Great great grandchildren and 20 great great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 26 at 11:00 A.M. at the Greater Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ with Bishop Fred Cunningham officiating. Wake will be from 10 – 11 at the church before the service. Burial will take place at Chambers Cemetery in Geneva Township.
