Terrence MacKerel

Terrence MacKerel, age 30, of South Haven, died Friday, May 19, 2006 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born September 6, 1975 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Larry E. MacKerel and Brenda Shaver. Terrence worked at Kalamazoo Electric. He was a member of Bobby Walker Ministries, a youth camp counselor at the YMCA in Portage, MI., he sponsored a basketball team at the Blueberry Festival and was a former basketball and football player at South Haven High School.

He is preceded by his father Larry E. MacKerel who died in 1987.

He is survived by his mother Brenda Shaver of South Haven, MI., one son-Day’von Franklin of South Haven, MI., a special friend, Adrienne Johnson, Five brothers-Larry MacKerel of Bangor, MI., Scottie Shaver of South Haven, MI., Kendrick MacKerel of Portage, MI., James MacKerel of South Haven, MI., Damon MacKerel of Bangor, MI., Three sisters-Brenda MacKerel of Kalamazoo, MI., Anika Lewis of Covert, MI., and LaJoya Newton of Kalamazoo, MI..

A wake will be held Saturday, May 27, 2006 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Greater Pentecostal Temple. Services will begin a 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Bobby Walker and Elder Amere May Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial can be made to the education fund for his son Day’von.
