Leslie's Obituary
Leslie Marie Calhoun, 49, of Grand Rapids, died Saturday, November 24, 2012 at her home. She was born July 1, 1963 to John and Sandra (Bowers) Calhoun in South Haven. Leslie worked as a correctional officer at State of Michigan Corrections - Ionia for twenty five years. Leslie loved her dogs – Tiny Pee Wee and Cinnamon like they were her own children and was very talented being able to sew, cook, and dress hair. She will be remembered for her generous heart.
She is preceded in death by her father.
Leslie is survived by her mother – Sandra Calhoun of South Haven; daughter – Shawntae Calhoun of Chicago; 2 brothers – Omar (Shay) Calhoun of Wyoming and Gregory Calhoun of South Haven; 2 sisters – Lisa (Ervin) Reed of Indianapolis and Lynette (Carl) Calhoun-Gleason of Muir, Michigan; nieces and nephews – Andreas Calhoun, Tresten Calhoun, and Khila Calhoun, Paeton Brown, Isaiah Reed, and Jourdan Stewart.
Wake will be from noon to 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 1 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Graveside Services will take place at 1:00 P.M. at Lakeview Cemetery with Pastor Bobby Walker officiating.
