Paul David Ludwig

Paul David Ludwig, 89, of South Haven, died Wednesday, May 23, 2013 at the South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. He was born April 18, 1924 to Paul and Clare (Bright) Ludwig in Columbus, Ohio. Paul began working at Dow Chemical Company in research and development in 1955 until his retirement in 1986. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Paul completed his undergraduate degree at Wittenberg and earned his doctorate’s degree from Ohio State University.  He enjoyed traveling and loved hunting and the outdoors. Paul was very involved in the community and was a member of the South Haven Kiwanis and Peace Lutheran Church.

He is preceded in death along with his parents by his wife – Ellen Ludwig and brother – Jack Ludwig.

Paul is survived by his children – David (Julie) Ludwig of South Haven, Mark (Cheryl) Ludwig of Centerville, Ohio, Meredith Ludwig of Boonville, Missouri, Eric (Nancy) Ludwig of Baltic, Ohio, Kim (Roger) Cronkright of Kalamazoo, Anne (Lance) Taylor of Pendleton, Indiana, David B. Ludwig of Kalamazoo, and Charles Ludwig of Miami, Florida. Eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter also survive.

Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 2:00 P.M. at the church.
