Karyn's Obituary
Karyn Ridley, 59, of South Haven, died Monday, September 30, 2013 at her home after a private and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born March 4, 1954 to Gerhardt and Marjorie (Parrish) Radtke in South Haven. Karyn graduated from South Haven High School in 1972. Karyn had worked at Palisades Nuclear Power Plant since 1976 and volunteered at Victims Services for Van Buren County for several years. Karyn loved to garden and enjoyed caring for the cemetery. Karyn also enjoyed refinishing furniture.
She is preceded in death by her father and her son – Chris Ridley who passed away in 2006.
Karyn is survived by her daughter – Lacey (Mitchell) Ridley-Rowton of Kalamazoo; mother – Marjorie Radtke; brother – Phillip Radtke of South Haven; nephew – Brad Radtke of South Haven; companion – Gene DeHaan of South Haven.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Jarvis officiating. Contributions can be made in Karyn’s memory to the First Assembly of God in South Haven or the Van Buren County Victims Services. Karyn will be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery.
