Yvonne's Obituary

Yvonne M. Rusin, 84, of South Haven, Michigan went be with the Lord Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born May 9th, 1929 to Carl and Ila (Horton) Casselberry in Detroit. Vonnie married her husband Zyg Rusin on September 21, 1946 in Dearborn and were happily married for 54 years.

Vonnie is survived by her four sons - Brady (Debby) Rusin of Austin, Barry (Peg) Rusin of Reno, Roger (Kathy) Rusin and Tom (Laura) Rusin both of South Haven; two daughters- Rhonda (Joe) Koller of South Haven and Marcia (Kevin) Foord

Through her teen years Vonnie enjoyed singing for the Detroit Radio School House and after marriage she spent many years teaching piano (her students always enjoyed her homemade cookies). Vonnie was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in South Haven where she spent time as the organist and choir director. After purchasing their first and only house in South Haven, they spent many years running a roadside fruit stand where they sold their homegrown produce. After Zyg retired, they enjoyed many years of traveling. They also took up windsurfing and cross country skiing and spent many hours enjoying these new hobbies together. In her later years Vonnie loved volunteering at the hospital as a pink lady, getting together with family and friends each Saturday at Captain Nemo's for breakfast and always loved being a hostess at her beloved home, serving her guests her famous desserts.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 26 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of South Haven with Pastor Jerry Koller officiating. Kindly share your thoughts and memories on the Family's online guestbook at http://www.filbrandtffh.com/" target="_blank">http://www.filbrandtffh.com/</a>.
