Jack's Obituary
Jack N. Fennell, 81 of South Haven died on Wednesday, October 30, in Clarksville, Michigan at his son's home. He was born on April 3, 1932 in South Haven, Michigan to Arthur and Alta (Sutherland) Fennell. Jack was a 1950 graduate of South Haven High School. He then went on to Western Michigan University earned his bachelor's degree in accounting. Jack worked for Citizens Trust and Savings, Shoreline, and finally Chemical Bank as an accountant until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the American Legion and the Kiwanis Club. Jack was an amateur actor and participated in Kalamazoo Civic Theatre, Paw Paw Players and for Our Town Players in South Haven. He also volunteered at South Haven Health Systems.
He is preceded in death by his parents and long time companion, Bette Lang.
Jack is survived by his sons - Rixon (Connie) Fennell of Grand Junction, MI, Tyrone Fennell of South Haven, MI, Douglas Fennell of Sand Lake, MI and Vance (Shannon) Fennell of Clarksville, MI. Seven grand children and two great grand children. Also surviving is his former spouse, Betty Chapman of South Haven.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM with Rev. Jeffrey S. Dick officiating. Contributions can be made in Jack’s memory to the National Wildlife Federation 11100 Wildlife Center Drive, Reston, VA 20190.
