Martha's Obituary
Martha “Marty” Jarvie of South Haven, 80, died Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at the William Beaumont Hospital in Troy, MI. She was born February 17, 1933 to Paul and Helen (Spence) Moreton in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Marty earned her Bachelors of Arts in Journalism from the Miami University, Ohio. Marty married James Jarvie on Feb. 23, 1963 in Cleveland Hts, Ohio. Marty loved to play bridge. She belonged to both the Tuesday and Wednesday bridge groups. Marty was a member at the First United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – James Jarvie who passed in 1994.
Marty is survived by her two daughters – Jill Jarvie and Beth (Steve) McCaghy both of Clarkston, MI; three grandchildren – Caitlin, Hallie, and Molly McCaghy.
Visitation will be from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church of South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at the church with Rev. Devon Herrell officiating. Contributions may be made in Marty’s memory to the First United Methodist Church in South Haven.
